The Embassy of France in South Africa is pleased to inform you that the 2015 call for applications for the Civil Society Development Fund (CSDF) is now open. Under the 2014-2017 funding period, the Embassy of France is providing project-based grants of up to € 40 000that do not exceed 70% of the total project budget. The maximum duration of funding is 12 or 18 months. In order to be considered for funding, the CSOs need to be registered not-for-profit civil society organisations, networks or coalitions based in South Africa with a 3 year experience in the sector. Priority is given to co-financed initiatives that support gender equality and women’s empowerment.


Our funding priorities are:
    (1) Improving the quality and access to basic services with a specific focus on sustainable development of communities and social cohesion and
    (2) Promoting human rights, with a specific focus on marginalized groups.
